SNAKE!
I haven't blogged in a long time because I didn't have anything new or interesting to blog about. But..... tonight, we did have some excitement for sure.
As I was riding up the driveway, Ian was standing on the porch, waiting for me. We had a snake in the computer room! We have been here almost 5 years and this was a first. I have seen plenty in the yard but never in the house. Ian was doing some work and he noticed Red jumped up and was looking at the bookshelf, so Ian looked too and saw the tail go wiggling up behind it. He got Red out of there, closed the door and stuffed a towel under the door.
We called the snake catcher and got his recording, he was at work and not available. So we called the coppers and they called Parks and our friend Ollie Schiebe soon arrived. Here are some pics of the whole operation.
Ian thought he was behind the bookshelf but actually he was stretched out on the top.
Ollie is going in for the catch now, I was peeking around the door while this was going on. I wasn't timid, I just didn't want to get in the way (yeah right!)
Got him!
Up the hall, he is very long and thin, probably was almost 5' long. Ollie said he was a Golden Tree Snake, only moderately venomous.
He was not particularly anxious to get into that can, at one point Ollie had let go of him and he came right up the side and was on my backpack and ready to head across the table. But he got him and stuffed him back in.
Now I keep wondering if he has any relatives still hanging around.
