Christmas in Kakadu

I am getting the Chrissy pic up early this year! And we have big news, we are leaving Jabiru. We should be on our way by mid January if all goes on schedule. We are headed to a small town about 70 k south of Townsville in Queensland, a small town called Brandon. It is in sugar cane country in the Burdekin Shire. You can read a little bit about it here:

This will be my new home beach and it is (relatively) safe to actually get into the water!

I am so excited to be living within an hours drive of a reasonably big city again. And in a small town with another slightly larger town just a few minutes away. It will be amazing to have a choice of restaurants and grocery stores, and they are open after 5PM. It will be heaven. Also access to arts and schools in Townsville. I have a hankering to take a welding class, I want to do huge metal sculptures. I will keep you all posted on our new adventures as they unfold.

It will probably take 3 nights on the road to reach there. It should be exciting with the 3 dogs. Red is having trouble getting in and out of the car now so we will carry steps for him. Our new home has a couple of acres fenced in so I know they will love it when we get there.
